Meditating on Scripture
Joni Eareckson Tada has been a personal hero to me and to many for the past 50 years. She is an overcomer and a light in our dark world.
Her story, “At the age of 15, I dove into murky waters of the Chesapeake Bay and broke my neck. In an instant I lost use of my body, my hands and legs. In a split second, I was a quadriplegic, never to be the same.“
But Joni gave her tragedy to God and He turned it into Triumph.
Joni’s life is a powerful testimony of HOPE. She and her husband Ken have a world wide ministry to children who have disabilities of all kinds, called Joni and Friends. My good friend Kenzie Chasteen has the privilege of working as one of Joni’s caregivers and is so blessed to get to spend time with Joni and Ken and to see the reality of Christ’s love in their marriage in their ministry and relationships.
If you are looking for a ministry to support, I suggest, Joni and Friends, it is a ministry bringing hope and help to those who are challenged with disabilities, especially children. Joni’s attitude is contagious and convicting.
I sent Joni an email sharing some of my ideas on meditating on Scripture in the night watches and she turned my ideas into one of her 4 minutes daily podcasts. Here it is!
