Sharing the Magic

June 2, 2022

I love the mountains of North Carolina!

Today I took our collies up to the top of a nearby mountain pasture for a nature walk. Chippy and Skipper loped around sniffing cow patties while I collected a basketful of herbal delights: Yarrow, Heal All, Bull Thistle, Mullein flowers, Plantain, Red Clover, Daisies, Black Eyed Susans, Catnip, Queen Anne Lace… the fields were dancing with beauty and waving with energy and life.

Standing as sentinels above the pasture were stands of maples, hickory and oak trees… some with immense girth. Leaning against one of these giants I surveyed the fields and the far off mountain ridge while the breeze caressed my face and I read these words from Psalms 104

“O LORD, how many are Your works!
In wisdom You have made them all;
The earth is full of Your creations…You renew the face of the ground…
Let the glory of the LORD endure forever;
Let the LORD be glad in His works…
I will sing to the LORD as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have my being….
Let my meditation be pleasing to Him; As for me, I shall be glad in the LORD.”

Now to garble my catch and make a few herbal preparations while things are fresh.

Just had to share the magic.
