“Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.” 3 John 1:2″
Jesus answered and said “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Taking care of yourself is often considered a luxury and often an afterthought. This is so not true. Jesus says to love your neighbor as YOURSELF. So how are you doing with that? Loving others first comes from knowing that you are Loved and wanted by Your Creator (your source), when God’s Love fills the void, only He was meant to fill, then you are free to Love others….from overflow.
How many of us are serving others on empty?
God gave Jason and I four sons to love and raise! It was a great great privilege but if I could rewind all those years of raising my children I would have done something significantly different….I would have taken care of myself better. Not just for my own sake but for theirs. Kids need to see their parents role model what they are trying to impart rather than just enforce it on them. More is caught than taught.
As a homeschool mom of four boys I was determined to give them opportunities, education, adventures, spiritual nourishment and training in skills…it was a blast but I did it often on completely exhausted; staying up late preparing the next day’s lessons, skipping out on sleep, skipping exercise…skipping self care…it all seemed so self sacrificing and loving but it was really NOT. They needed to see a Mom who cared more about her spiritual walk with God than theirs, about her own health and habits more than ensuring they had theirs. I pray the women they marry have this better balanced than I did.
As my birds flew away to begin their own lives I then had my father’s accident to navigate for three months as he languished in ICU, became my mother’s fulltime caregiver for two years till she passed, took care of my mother in law with yet another fracture, during which time our eldest son died in a BASE jumping accident and my adrenals were totally and completely shot.
Thank God that He brought me a life preserver through Young Living. These oils are truly His Love manifest in molecules and using them in conjunction with some long lost common sense I have been choosing to take care of me as a part of my walk with God and service to others. Our health matters to the Lord! If you want your family to live a healthy vibrant life then you have to SHOW them the way!
Invest in YOU so you can invest in others better.

“Taking care of yourself is probably one of the best things you can do if you love your chidden because you want them to see a Mom that isn’t always burning herself out for everybody else…of course you’ll be busy loving on them but you’ll be doing that from a position of strength and that is super important.”

Video Three: Skin care
“It’s time to think about what your skin is eating. Everything you put on your skin (your body’s largest organ) gets absorbed into your bloodstream. What you put ON your body is just as powerful as what you put IN your body. It’s important to remember that your skin is your largest, and most permeable organ. Just about anything you put on your skin will end up in your bloodstream and be distributed throughout your body. Once these chemicals find their way into your body, they tend to accumulate over time because you typically lack the necessary enzymes to break them down and eliminate them.
The Average US woman uses 12 personal care products a day, containing 168 different chemicals. Women with higher levels of personal care chemicals in their bodies experienced menopause two to four years earlier than women with lower levels!! Almost 13,000 chemicals are used in cosmetics and only 10 percent have been evaluated by FDA for safety. 1,200 chemicals outlawed in Europe and only 11 of them are outlawed in US.Cosmetics can come on the market without any type of approval necessary. The FDA tasks the companies that manufacture and market cosmetics with ensuring their safety.
When using body lotion, deodorant, shampoo, or nail polish, you’re taking a chance that you’re applying harmful chemicals to your body even if the product claims to be non toxic, natural, organic and safe. Chemical exposure is not insignificant especially when they occur virtually daily for a lifetime. Many of these chemicals are hormone altering and carcinogenic.” Dr. Mercola

Video Five – Water and Oils
Love yourself with essential oils and water!
WATER is more important that oils (gasp)!! Most of us are extremely dehydrated and water is key for all the functions in our body. Dr. Batmanghelidj’s fascinating book, “Your Body’s Many Cries For Water” details how dehydration is at the root of almost all dis-ease. He goes through each body system and explains how that system works when well hydrated and how it breaks down with dehydration. The subtitle for his book is, ‘You are not sick, you are thirsty. Don’t treat thirst with medication.” This one topic could just possibly change your life!
Young Living Citrus oils are all detoxifying. I love them all: Lime, Lemon, Tangerine, Orange, Grapefruit…They each have various healing constituents but in this video I am focusing on LEMON!
Using Young Living’s pure oils to flavor water makes it not only tasty but healthful.
It takes 75 cold pressed lemons rinds have to produce one 15 ml of Young Living essential oil. Super concentrated and super PURE!!. Lemon oil breaks down toxins and helps our liver flush them out. Lemon is also alkalizing to our systems which makes is an antitumoral oil.
Here is how I do this: Use a tiny bit of honey in the bottom of a GLASS jar (lemon dissolves plastic!) add a few drops of Lemon oil from YL add a bit of warm water and stir to mix it well, fill up the rest of the way with cool water. The honey helps emulsify the essential oils into water so they don’t float on top of the water in the jar. Lately I’ve done something even simpler and that is make up a ‘mother’ of honey and lots of YLEO citrus oils with water in a mason jar that I keep in the refrigerator. I’ll add one inch of that to an empty mason jar and fill it up the rest of the way with water. It’s a really good idea to have all the water you need to drink poured out and ready to go each morning. (I often do this the night before). DRINK at least 8 oz of water soon as you wake up before your feet even touch the floor to wake up your brain and get your cells activated.
Drink one half your body weight in ounces.
The Salt trick!! Sea Salt NOT table salt (I like Redmond Sea Salt). We need all the minerals in good sea salt. Our body is an hydroelectric machine!! GET hydrated.
Here is the most important talk I have ever heard on the importance of water. Dr. Barbara O’Neill is one of the champions of the 8 Universal Health Laws. She is incredible, she often quotes this verse from Scripture, “My people perish for lack of knowledge”, so up your knowledge with this incredible talk and if you homeschool make this a homeschool assignment to watch this with your kids! We often don’t do what we are told to do but what we understand….so get your learn on!
IMHO I honestly think that the reason why some people get well when they go to the hospital for a crisis is because they are immediately put on an IV drip of a saline water solution. BOOM! Often that is all that was really needed. Remember our body was created to heal itself but it needs water to do that!
If you lose your body, where are you going to live?

Video Six – Exercising & Oils
Fast forward to Summer and I did a short video showing some of my favorite Exercises and the oils I use to give me energy and endurance. High Intensity Interval Training or HIIT, during the recovery stage you are burning just as many calories as you did when exerting yourself. The Rebounder is the other amazing exercise that we should all be doing: moves lymph (releasing toxins), won’t hurt joints, bounce in alignment with weight on the outside of feet… Eye exercises.
Of course Green exercise is far better than working out indoors. Sunshine is the Doctor in the sky, Fresh Air sure beats smelling toxic cleaning chemicals and other peoples sweat in an expense GYM, and if you have a dog it gets them outside with you and they NEED that as much as we do. Grounding is another thing we can do when exercising barefoot in the dirt. My favorite Exercise oils are: Cinnamon Bark, Peppermint, Nutmeg, After exercise oils: PanAway, Cool Azul, Peppermint,
Young Living’s Insect Repellent is important!
Here is Dr. ONeill’s fascinating video on Exercise. Mind blown.
Holly's Good morning routine! There are three exercises that I do each day and combined they take only 15 minutes. These are exercises that work. My favorite way to live is intentionally. When I do this 15 minute routine I do it outside (regardless of weather) in the early morning when the suns rays are resetting my circadian rhythms, filling my lungs with fresh air and the TTapp portion I do barefoot under my White Oak tree for the benefits of grounding.1. High Intensity Interval Training or HIIT gets the heart rate moving and even kicks HGH in gear if you do 6 reps. For me my HIIT is really simple, I merely run up the hill as fast as I can for 30 seconds and then walk back down recovering my breath and then…do it again. The amazing thing about HIIT is that you are burning as many calories (units of energy) in the recovery phase as you are while exerting.2. Rebounding! This one is my fav! No jarring joints or muscles. When we stop 'jumping' we start aging. Jump for JOY! Your lymph will thank you. One minute three times a day is all that's needed. 3. TTapp for body alignment and stretching. These simple stretches and positions have changed the way I exercise, walk, stand, sit and even push a grocery cart. It is AHmazing!OILSThe oils I use are Nutmeg over my adrenals (in my morning oil up), YL Insect repellant to keep the bugs out me, and sometimes I slather Valor on my wrists to sniff to inspire me to keep going and Peppermint spray to cool off. What does your exercise routine look like? Which oils do you use?#livewithintention #movementislife #notanoption #movetolive
